Using the Members Area
To enter the members area click on the 'Members' button on the left hand button bar of each Gallica website page.
Enter your user name and password. Your user name is usually your first name and last name joined together with no space in between. Keep the capital letter on your first and last name. You can receive your initial password from your squad rep - you should change this password when you first enter your members area.
Once you have entered a correct username and password, you will be presented with a page showing tables of PBs for short and long course events. There are a row of links on the page including 'Change my password', 'Edit profile', 'Show raw results', 'Printer friendly'. At the bottom of the page there is a section which allows you to enter a new result into your members area.
From the main members home page select the 'Change my password' link to display a page which asks you to enter your old password and also enter your new password twice.
From the main members home page select the 'Edit profile' to display a rather long page with two halves. The top half displays your current profile data. The bottom half contains a data entry area in which you can enter new text for each individual category. Once you have added/changed the text in the input fields, press the Update button to refresh the page.

If you want to add text that includes a carriage return you can use the text
. So for example, the text "line 1
line 2" will be displayedas:

line 1
line 2

On the main members home page you can add event timings by filling in the fields at the bottom of the page. Dont forget that dates are entered in the format YYYY_MM_DD, so 2007_10_14 is the 14th October 2007. Also times are entered in MM:SS.HH, so minutes first then a colon, then seconds, then a decimal point then hundredths of seconds (e.g. 1:23.45 is one minute, 23 seconds and 45 hundredths of a second). Press the add result and the page will be displayed - if this time is a PB is will be displayed in the short or long course results table at the top of the page. You can add multiple times for the same event - each time will be stored but only the PB will be displayed on this page.
Once you have entered some event times, the short and long course results tables will show your PBs. Each PB is a clickable link which takes you to a table of results for that event. In this example, clicking on the 3:01.23 time on the members home page takes us to all the entered results for the 400m long course results.
The individual event result page shows the results for that event in time order (PB at the top). In the case where an incorrect time was entered, it is possible to press the 'Delete' link to remove that time.
From the members home page you can select the 'Show raw results' page to display all your results in what is known as CSV (comma-separated-values) format. You can copy this page to a file on your own computer and load it into a spreadsheet for your own use. You can also use this method to keep your own copy of your result data just in case something happens to the web server - over 5 years I haven't lost any data and I keep regular backups of all the information, but you never know!
On several pages there is a link labelled 'Printer Friendly'. This link takes you to a page which doesnt show the Gallica banner and buttons, but just shows the result table or other items of interest. This is probably more suitable for printing results.
