Tollcross Leisure Centre in Glasgow played host to the Scottish Gas National Championships from 22nd-27th June. This meet doubled up as the Scottish Commonwealth Trials so fast racing was almost guaranteed.. however, for the non-Scots, there was a catch! Only the fastest 2 non-Scots would progress to finals, and only 4 into semi finals – which made this a tough meet for the G Force, especially since we swam unrested...
Our team consisted of:
James Radcliffe, Justin Austin, Connor Makin, Steph Slater, Martha Hirst, Shannon Loder, Florie McLeish, Jess Chadwick, Georgia Barton, Meg Davis, Amelia Candon and Amelia Wood
The medal summary is:
Senior: 1 SILVER - Georgia Barton
Age Groups: 2 GOLDS/1 SILVER - Jess Chadwick, 1 GOLD – Meg Davis, 1 SILVER/1 BRONZE – Shannon Loder
We also had 2 new National qualifiers from this meet... Well done to James Radcliffe who qualified in the senior 400IM, and Florie McLeish who clinched the 14yrs 400IM time! Great job...
So now, our 21 individual swimmers and 2 extra relay swimmers will knuckle down for one final push into this year’s summer National Championships. A full summary of our qualifiers will appear on the website soon...
