Mallorca Training Camp 2010
4th June 2010
The swimmers were selected for this camp based on their impressive commitment (attendance and training effort!) to training this season. The camp was at the B.E.S.T. Centre in Colonia de Sant Jordi in Mallorca, Palma. The centre was set up by Olympic swimmers James Parrack and Matthew O'Connor.

The facility is a 10 lane 50m outdoor pool, which also has a gymnasium, physio room and training/education room. This is a World Class facility for teams travelling abroad, and was occupied by none other than the GB National Squad for the 2wks prior to Gallica's arrival!

The G Force did 10 x 2hr swim sessions in the 50m pool (with 30mins pre-pool and 30mins post-pool exercises), 2 x beach circuits (2-3hrs!) and a sea swim! It was a gruelling week, and every swimmer worked extremely hard throughout...

We received countless positive comments from people at the pool, hotel and out and about - the guys were commended for their team approach, politeness and professionalism.. They're a credit to their parents and to our programme!

This camp has set up the Squad for the National Championship events coming up in the summer:

National Age Groups (28th July-1st August, Sheffield)

National Youth Championships (3-7th August, Sheffield)

ASA Nationals (18-21st August, Sunderland)

Good luck to all our swimmers this summer... Go G Force!!
