British Champs 2010 - Day 4
1st April 2010
The day started with last night’s finalist, Daniel Sliwinski in the Mens 50m Breaststroke. Dan posted a comfortable 28.95 to qualify 3rd for tonight’s semi finals.

Next up were our two breaststroke girls Stephanie Slater and Jessica Chadwick in the 100m event. Steph progressed through to the semi finals in 1:11.86, just outside her season’s best time. Whilst Jess recorded a new PB of 1:13.38 finishing in 22nd position (2nd reserve for tonight’s semis).

Last swim ofthe morning was Anthony Lucas in the Mens 100m Backstroke. Tony went out strong and came back even stronger as he stormed to a new PB of 1:01.38! That was 0.72secs faster than his previous best...

The evening session kicked off with Dan in the 50m Breaststroke semis. Dan comfortably won his semi in 28.61 to qualify second for the final. However, he has decided to use Friday as a preparation day for his 200m event on Day 6, where he can once again contend the places for this year’s Commonwealth Games, so has withdrawn from the final.

Last swim of the day was Steph in the 100m Breaststroke semis. It was a strong swim and a season’s best performance of 1:11.12, which qualifies Steph for tomorrow night’s final in joint 8th spot. Having looked a little tense today, Steph will be aiming to stay calm and collected ahead of the big event tomorrow – GOOD LUCK STEPHY!!
