Dan will be competing in the 50/100/200m breaststroke events over the next four days in Turkey at his first major International Senior event. He gained selection as a result of his outstanding performances at the National Championships at Ponds Forge this summer.
Whilst the last month or so has been a challenging training period for Dan, he goes into the meet fit and well! This is the last major meet where the full length bodysuits are allowed, and all GB athletes have been given the freedom to choose what they compete in. Dan has only been wearing 2010 approved swimwear since the start of the season in readiness for the new rules. However, the plan is to wear the suits for the very last time in Turkey, with a view to competing on a level with the rest of the field as he attempts to gain invaluable experience of progressing through the heats and into second swims in the semi-finals and finals.
Louise Robinson, Gallica's Head Coach, is also a selected member of the team and will be overseeing the preparations of Dan and his fellow breaststroke team mates.
