Day 5 - National Youth & Senior Championships 2009
1st August 2009
Wow! What a week!!

Jordan Theaker stepped up today for the 1500m Freestyle as the newly crowned 800m Champion with only one thing on his mind... To go in and win the Distance Double, and that's exactly what he did. He posted a time of 15:59.38 - a great new PB to take the 1500m title for 15/16yrs (and he's only 15!) by about 10 seconds!! Great job Theaker, that's lucky number 7 :-)

The evening session saw another top quality display from Josh Walsh in the Boys 17/18yrs 200m Freestyle final. Having taken the 400m crown on Day 1, Josh went in tonight determined to secure the 200m title to complete the Middle Distance Double.. His time of 1:50.54 was a new lifetime best and sent him over a second clear of his closest British rivals. Great job Walshy - what a fantastic way to finish the season...

That's Gold Number 8 for the Team this week!!

Other swims today included James Radcliffe in the 1500m, he swam a 16:24.00 - a strong effort and something to build on next season.

The Girls 200m Breaststroke saw Shannon Loder compete in her first event and she was just on her best time with 2:45.31.

Justin Austin went in the 100m Butterfly posting 1:00.70 and also the 200m Backstroke clocking 2:15.75.

Sarah Lucas swam a 2:27.19 in the Girls 200m Butterfly, just outside her best time.

One day to go for the Gallica Team, good luck everyone!!
